Students smile at Food Truck FestHundreds of students, parents, school staff and community members took part in the first-ever Woodbury Middle School Food Truck Fest on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The event was organized in by Lanka Liyanapathiranage and Lauren O’Connor, who teach at the school. Both wanted to create an event that would bring the community together.

A dozen food trucks took part in the event, offering a diverse selection of food to choose from. Among the options were Asian Invasion, Chomped Grill, The Dawg House, El Burrito Mercado, Fabled Rooster, Fresco Foods, Kona Ice, Milk Mart Ice Cream, Nautical Bowls, Samaurai Teppanyaki, Sug'r Shack and The J. Mobile. Each food truck agreed to give 5-20% of the earnings to the school’s PTO, which will use the funds to help out with classroom support and activities that will enrich WMS students.

While they ate, attendees got to hear music performed by high school band students. Before and after eating, kids enjoyed their time catching up with friends, bouncing in the bounce house and playing volleyball.
