Miles Lee, East Ridge High School

What are your plans after high school? Miles Lee

After high school, I plan to attend a technical school and pursue a career in the automotive industry.

What is the most important thing you’ve learned in your school? Why?

The most important thing I've learned from school is to not waste time. If you waste time, things you could have gotten done start to catch up to you at a later date.

What has been, or what will be, your biggest challenge?

My greatest academic challenge so far has been Credit Recovery. I have never been a great math student, so remaking a class that I struggled with was challenging. However, with the help of knowledgeable teachers, this challenge can be easily accomplished.

What teacher has had the biggest impact on your educational journey?

The teacher that has had the most impact on my high school career is probably Mr. Ware. His Small Gas Engine and Woodworking classes were interesting and they opened up more interests to me. He also allowed me to work on some personal projects which I still have today.

With the current state of the world, what gives you hope?

With the current status of the world, what gives me hope is the future with my friends and family. I hope that in the future my friends and I can go back out to the river and catch fish, or that my newborn twin nieces grow up to be smart and happy kids. In a time of constant change and irregularities, it is things like that keep me moving every day.
