Choice Programs

District 833 offers two choice programs, Multiage Choice and Spanish Immersion. Kindergarten families can apply for these optional programs and a lottery process is used to determine acceptance. Learn more about these programs and how to apply below.

Multiage Choice Program

The Multiage Choice Program is made up of classrooms where students of different ages are intentionally placed in the same classroom to take advantage of the natural diversity created. Instruction focuses on individual progress in both academic and social-emotional areas. Students have the same classroom teacher for two years (kindergarten and first grade, second and third, and fourth and fifth). This strengthens the relationship with students and families and helps teachers to know their students well.

For more information, please plan on attending the Multiage Choice Program Welcome Night on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 5:30 p.m.

Students progress through the same K-5 elementary curriculum as all other District 833 students. NFSI students also learn to read, write, speak and understand Spanish by being immersed in the language at school. Teachers are licensed elementary teachers and are fluent in Spanish. Students will continue on the K-12 Spanish Immersion pathway in District 833, attending Woodbury Middle School for grades 6-8 and Woodbury High School for grades 9-12.
