Safety Drills During COVID-19
The state emergency orders have not relieved the requirement for drills; they are still required if students are in attendance in schools.
The goal of a drill is to show staff and students what needs to be done in that emergency.
- During the COVID-19 pandemic, drills may be performed slower to accommodate physical distancing.
- While drills may be done slower, please keep in mind that during real emergencies with a threat to health and safety, the immediate threat must be addressed first.
- Physical distance and masking are secondary to protecting lives and preventing injury.
