Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion Elementary School’s student council gave back to their community by visiting Woodbury Senior Living on Wednesday, March 14.

Students led a variety of activities with the residents of the senior living facility from games to arts and crafts, including painting terra cotta pots and planting daisy seeds. The students also took the time to ask residents questions, such as, “what was life like when they were in elementary school?”

“The students were such well-mannered and generous children, who showed such empathic hearts. We were so pleased to have them visit,” said Margaret Wachholz, Campus Marketing Director at Woodbury Senior Living.

Residents were very excited to interact with the students. One resident even treated the group by playing piano, as a way of saying thank you.

The trip was organized by Megan Kochmann and Leah Wieseler-Nowatzki, who are advisors for the student council. Parents also volunteered their time to help with the activities which lasted for several hours in the evening.
