Artwork made by five artists from Park High School is on display at the 2018 Les Farrington Best 100 Juried Art Exhibition at the AZ Gallery in St. Paul. Students include Adam Fenenga (two photographs), Makayla Krohn (one ceramic vase), Alyssa Olson (one mixed media painting), Chloe Skokan (one graphic design piece) and Breanna Weiss (one drawing).

These students were selected from hundreds of artists who submitted thousands of pieces of art for the exhibit which only showcases 100 pieces of student artwork from east metro schools.

The exhibit opened to the public on March 1 with an awards ceremony. Students were honored for their artwork in the form of award certificates and various cash scholarships, totaling more than $4,000. Alyssa Olson won a $250 scholarship for her multi-media painting.

"This group of artists is fully committed to their craft. They spend countless hours beyond the school day photographing the city, sitting behind a potter's wheel and pondering their next brush stroke," said Kristina Jameson, Art Teacher at Park High School. "It is extremely rewarding as a teacher to see how excited, energized and honored these students were to be chosen to be a part of this very prestigious exhibit."

This juried exhibition is one of the only non-school sponsored opportunities for students interested in art to compete against their peers. Artwork will be on display at the AZ Gallery in Lowertown St. Paul from March 1-23. More details can be found on the AZ Gallery's website.
