Woodbury Middle School

Ms. Breanna Casper has had a passion for string instruments and a desire to play the violin since the age of four. Her school in Oconto, WI did not have an orchestra program, so she began private violin lessons at age 12, studying under Janusz Zak, and later joined the Green Bay Youth Symphony. In order to fulfill her music passion at school, Ms. Casper began playing clarinet in the fifth grade, and picked up saxophone in high school, continuing in band throughout high school and into college.

Ms. Casper went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she majored in Instrumental Music Education and studied violin under Nobuyoshi Yasuda. During college she also began learning viola, cello, and bass and was elected vice president of the UWEC chapter of the American String Teachers Association. She performed with the University Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Band, University Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Chippewa Valley Symphony.

Following her graduation, Ms. Casper taught in the Eau Claire school district for two-and-a-half years. There she taught both middle and high school orchestra, as well as a summer beginning strings program. During this time, she continued to perform with the Chippewa Valley Symphony. She recently moved to Saint Paul to be closer to her partner and family. She is very excited to join the South Washington County School District. Outside of school she enjoys performing, reading, and spending time with her family - especially her 9 nieces and nephews.
