Ms. Rose Moua began playing the cello when she was 11 years old in the School District of Holmen in Holmen, Wisconsin.  At age 12, she began studying under Derek Clark, the principal cellist of the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra.  She also began on oboe and played the saxophone for marching band, but quickly switched over to the xylophone and continued all the way through high school.  It was not until junior year in high school when Ms. Moua’s passion and love for music and her cello ignited.
In 2011, Ms. Moua attended the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in pursuit of her Bachelors in Music Education Instrumental K-12.  She studied the cello under Tulio Rondon, the violin under Nobuyoshi Yasuda, and the piano under Nicholas Phillips.  During college, she performed with the University Symphony Orchestra, University Chamber Orchestra, and the Chippewa Valley Symphony.  She also earned second place in the Concert Competition performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto Movement 4.

After graduating in the fall of 2016, Ms. Moua substituted for a semester in the La Crosse, Onalaska and Holmen School District.  During this time, she performed in the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra and Chippewa Valley Symphony.  She then was hired in the Eau Claire Area School District as the Orchestra Teacher for two middle schools for four years.  In the fall of 2020, she relocated to Minnesota and is excited to teach in the South Washington County School District.

Her hobbies include spending time with friends, family, and her roommate’s Pomeranian, painting, and traveling.
