Class of 2020 - Kendall Moore, East Ridge High School

What are your plans after high school? Kendall Moore

I will be attending the University of Minnesota where I will be studying biology and playing football.

What is the most important thing you’ve learned in your school? Why?

The most important thing I've learned is that you never know when something is going to end, so make the best of it while it lasts. Whether that's in school, relationships, or simply life. Remain present and focused on the things you value most.

What has been, or what will be, your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge has probably been balancing the different areas of my life. I've always had a lot on my plate and the hardest part for me was just managing all of it at the same time. From school to sports to my social life, I've always struggled with the balance of chasing my ambitions and just wanting to enjoy being a kid.

What teacher has had the biggest impact on your educational journey?

I'm super thankful to all of the teachers who encouraged and supported me throughout my twelve years as a District 833 student. Without you all, I would not be who I am today and I am super grateful to have had such wonderful educators and people in my life.

With the current state of the world, what gives you hope?

I found hope in the people who have used this global tragedy as an opportunity to unify and come together. At times like these, we need to stay together as a community and look out for those who need us. And seeing people do that has kept me optimistic about what the future holds.
