High School Standouts Nominated for 2020 Triple "A" Award

East Ridge, Park and Woodbury High Schools announced the selection of the female and male nominees for the Minnesota State High School League’s (MSHSL) Triple “A” Award. The award recognizes high school seniors for academics, arts and athletics. Recipients must have a B or higher grade point average and participate in MSHSL sponsored athletics and fine arts activities.

Through a multi-level selection process, four award recipients - a female and a male from both Class A and Class AA schools- will be announced at a recognition ceremony in March. Each award recipient will receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship.

East Ridge High School

Stephanie BaiStephanie Bai is active in symphonic band, orchestra winds, plays first chair for the flute and has been practicing piano for 11 years. For the last four years, she has been an active member of the swim team. Stephanie has taken numerous Advanced Placement (AP) courses, been a member of the Project Lead the Way biomedical science program and is a National Merit Semifinalist.

Stephanie plans to attend the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities studying biomedical engineering.

Miles SitcawichMiles Sitcawich is active in symphonic band, pep band, orchestra winds and is the first chair trumpet player. Miles is an All-Conference member of the varsity soccer team where he helped his team finish second in the MSHSL State Tournament in 2019. He has taken many Advanced Placement (AP) courses, earned a 35 on the ACT, is a National Merit Semifinalist, qualified for the Chemistry Olympiad national competition, completed the University of Minnesota Talented Youth Mathematics Program (UMTYMP) and maintains a 4.45 GPA.

Miles hopes to attend an Ivy League school and study chemical engineering.

Park High School

Hannah HessHannah Hess is the captain of the swim team and has also participated in soccer and softball. She is a member of the speech team, choir and is involved in visual arts. Academically, Hannah is a full International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma candidate, maintains a 4.0 GPA and is a recipient of the 2019 Junior Book Award.

Hannah plans to study psychology at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.

Jacob DahlingJacob Dahling is a choir section leader and has performed at multiple Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) music events. He is also a member of the tennis team. Jacob has taken many Advanced Placement (AP) International Baccalaureate (IB) courses while maintaining a 4.2 GPA.

Jacob plans to attend the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and study computer science.

Woodbury High School

Tiffany HolidayTiffany Holiday has earned 12 varsity letters in her athletic career at Woodbury High School. She was named All-Conference in cross country, nordic skiing, track and field and orchestra. Tiffany was a state participant in cross country and track and field, and she earned superior ratings at Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Section Music Contests. Tiffany holds numerous leadership roles in the school while maintaining a 4.23 GPA.

Tiffany plans to study dietetics or pre-physical therapy after high school.

Josh BastonJosh Baston has been a standout member in cross country and track and field, earning varsity letters for both sports. He has also been instrumental in the growth of the Woodbury High School robotics team, serving on the executive committee of the team and helping lead them to the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) State Tournament in 2019. Josh is also a section leader in the school’s orchestra and maintains a 4.25 GPA.

Josh plans to attend the University of Wisconsin - Madison where he will study material sciences and engineering.
