Pine Hill Elementary Grant

Community support leads to $1,000 grant for Pine Hill Elementary School

Pine Hill Elementary school received a $1,000 grant from Old National Bank on Wednesday, Oct. 24, thanks to support it received from the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

The PTA led an online campaign for votes through Old National Bank's “Tools for Schools” competition. Thanks to the PTA’s leadership, the school received more votes than any other school in Minnesota during the voting period in September.

“We are so grateful for the support of our community. Our PTA has been working hard to fund a new Google Chromebook cart for our school and this will help us reach that goal,” said Principal Jolaine Mast.

The Google Chromebook cart would include 30 laptops and could be moved from classroom to classroom for student use.

“As a community bank, it’s important for us to give back,” said Minnesota Sales Manager Rhonda Mann. “We’ve been serving the St. Paul Park/Cottage Grove area for nearly 20 years. It doesn’t surprise me that this community advocated so passionately for Pine Hill Elementary School. We’re proud of this community and proud to support Pine Hill Elementary.”

Old National Bank acquired Anchor Bank this year. This is the fourth year of the “Tools for Schools” campaign nationally, but the first year it has been held in the Minnesota Region.
